Shane Krauser kicks off Constitution Week at GCC with a packed house

The Glendale Community College chapter started Constitution Week off with a bang by hosting Shane Krauser of the American Academy for Constitutional Education! He spoke to our chapter and guests about the importance of our Constitution and the rights it guarantees.

With nearly 50 students in attendance, we definitely had a packed house, with several professors offering students an extra credit opportunity to come and learn about our club and the Constitution. We completely ran out of pizza!

During our meeting, students were able to voice their concerns about many of the troubling issues going on with our government today. It is clear that the executive branch is seeking to override the Constitution at every opportunity, and creating awareness of this can help to hold our elected officials accountable and force them to do only what the Constitution states.

After our meeting, Shane Krauser spoke with us about the importance of Young Americans for Liberty, and students becoming activists for freedom on campus.

We are looking forward to continuing our Constitution Week efforts this Wednesday when we will be hosting a Giant Constitution display, as well as passing out the nearly 200 pocket Constitutions provided to us by YAL National and our generous donors!
