Michigan State University’s YAL chapter recently had its very first activism event. In the spirit of Halloween, we hosted a Civil Liberties graveyard on campus. We set up a table and displayed our tombstones for passing students to view. We also gave out candy, pocket constitutions, and other YAL handouts. We were delighted over the number of people who showed interest in our display and had an impressive number of sign-ups. In addition to the graveyard, we also had a petition combating an upcoming tobacco ban on campus. We look forward to doing more events like this in the future and sharing them with the rest of the YAL chapters.
