The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at Missouri State University spread liberty to Bernie Sanders supporters on Saturday afternoon. Near a local Sanders meetup in downtown Springfield, Missouri, students from MSU set up a table for YAL. The table featured flyers highlighting why less government economic intervention helps the poor. There were several interesting conversations from various individuals of all backgrounds.
“I feel as though we have more in common than we disagree on,” said a local Sanders supporter. We all agreed that we want to work together on the issues we do agree on. Particularly, in regards to civil liberties.
Overall, the event was productive from the standpoint of connecting with other individuals in the community we may not always agree with, but at the same time forming allies on things we do have common ground on.
