Last Thursday, the chapter at CSU San Marcos held its first Spring Recruitment Drive. As a relatively small chapter, we were worried that the other festivities on campus would put our table in the shadows. And they most certainly did. By the end of the day, we had only received about 7 sign ups.
These 7 people, however, were possibly the best and most driven sign ups I’ve seen to date. Minutes after sending out emails about joining the chapter, three of them liked our Facebook page and are raring to join. Even while our table was completely dwarfed by other organizations, we ended up almost doubling our chapter size due to the effort we put in. I’d say the event went quite well.
Don’t feel down if you rarely get any signatures. It’s better to recruit driven students rather than hoard worthless prospects.Published in
