Spring Recruitment Drive at Newberry College

On Friday, March 31, the Newberry College chapter took pocket Constitutions, palm cards, and a sign-up sheet to the students that afternoon. Being the last day of the week and after classes, the crowd was not as full as we would have liked, but we visited the cafeteria and the library, the two largest hubs on campus, and we were able to speak with several potential members, and we were able to turn a previous “maybe” into a “yes” for our chapter. We are still awaiting official school recognition, and showing a good local membership would help pick up steam. That being said, we need to plan our next effort for a more populous time, but with our campus so small, word of mouth is also quite effective. Our presence on campus should hopefully begin an overdue discussion on the necessary subject of liberty.
