YAL at the University of Hawai’i in Manoa used the Crony Capitalism, Jenga-nomics, and Free-Market 101 activism kits to table three occasions in the last two months. We displayed the Free-Market 101 kit the first two tabling events and we received a lot attention and good feedback. Students were amazed to learn that many countries are rated more economically free than the US.
The third day of tabling we setup all three activism kits, and the Jenga-nomics definitely caught student’s eyes and made them think. The Jenga-nomics kit is very simple but it does a great job of allowing for an interesting conversation about economics to take place, and we all know how difficult it can be to open up a conversation about economics with most people.
Using these three activism kit we added around 25 people to our roster. Although, we are learning that adding people to our roster is not enough, we need to take the extra step to get them to our meetings and get them involved.
I think the YAL national group did an amazing job coming up with these activism kits, and we would like to thank them for their continued dedication to spread the philosophies of liberty on our campus!
