Students at McDaniel College Preserve the Constitution

On September 14, McDaniel’s YAL Chapter hosted Defend the Constitution. Our goal was to educate people to learn more about the Constitution through a hands on activity. During the event, we passed out Pocket Constitutions. We invited students, faculty, and community members to sign our large Constitution. The event received overwhelming support. We worked diligently to recruit new members. Overall, we reached 97 sign-ups. Furthermore, we passed out all of our Pocket Constitutions. An Alumni member from the Class of 1964 signed our Constitution. After civil discourse with two Adjunct Professors, we invited them to attend our meetings. They graciously accepted our invitation. This was an excellent example to prove that civil discussions between opposing views can still take place. On a side note, the first person to receive a Pocket Constitution was the President of McDaniel College. The club plans on giving the large Constitution to our faculty advisor. Defend the Constitution was a momentous occasion for our club!
