Every year, Marshall University holds their annual Week of Welcome for incoming freshman. In that week, there are two events meant to introduce freshmen to organizations available to them on campus: RecFest, and the Campus Activity Board Carnival. Marshall’s newly-forming YAL chapter was able to reserve a spot and recruit at both of these events!
We sat up our tables using YAL’s recruitment drive kit. We utilized the political quiz, which was a big hit. During the events we were able to talk with students about what Young Americans for Liberty stands for, hand out pocket Constitutions, and advertise our first meeting.
Over the course of the two tabling opportunities, we were able to secure almost 70 sign ups, which is great for a new chapter! We hope to be able to keep the momentum rolling and get more upperclassmen by doing more recruitment drives throughout the year.Published in
