The first few weeks of the semester have been riddled with red tape and hurdles as we fought to be recognized by our school’s office of student involvement. We were unable to participate in many fall semester activities, including the recruitment fair. However, that did not stop us from getting out there and talking to people during Constitution Week!
I spoke with a few students about how much they knew their rights. Fortunately, many students seemed to be aware of their basic liberties, and were willing to listen to our chapter’s mission statement. The SU College Republicans also seemed receptive to the notion, and joined us in handing out pocket Constitutions.
I am certain that our chapter will continue to pick up speed as the semester continues!Published in
