Tabling and Recruiting at Florida International University

On March 1, YAL at FIU went out into the cold, liberal streets of our university to spread the word of liberty and challenge the young minds of our generation to think outside the box and question the political agenda forced upon them by professors and media. Every time we table and recruit, we are happily surprised to see so many students genuinely interested in what YAL stands for. Despite the mainstream liberal mentality present on most campuses, there are still students who value their freedoms and are mortified to see the Constitution being trampled on and not upheld the way it was meant to. Our YAL chapter spoke with dozens of students and heard their opinions on current liberty-related issues they thought were most important. Gun laws and the infringement of the Second Amendment have been hot topics throughout the nation, especially in the state of FL. Being able to talk to fellow peers and get their input on how to resolve the issue without infringing on others Second Amendment rights was definitely a great way for our chapter to discuss current issues, listen to the community and members, and attempt to answer the questions our government simply can’t.
