  • YAL at University of the Cumberlands Kicks Off!

Young Americans for Liberty at University of the Cumberlands had our first meeting on February 4. The turn-out was great, and a lot of people were interested in leadership positions in our chapter! We even got a little artsy with our refreshments.  Our second meeting on February 11 was just as amazing as the first, …

  • Pints and Politics: Encouraging Civic Involvement

During K Week, UK’s freshman orientation week, UK YAL wanted a way to bring new students of all political affiliations together in order to encourage involvement in the civil process.  We worked with a multitude of student organizations, including student government, in order to ensure a successful event with high attendance.  We decided to host …

  • YAL University of Kentucky Chapter Free Markets 101 Activism Report

We started off our Free Market activism at UK with the Jenganomics kit.  It was successful at drawing people to the table that probably otherwise wouldn’t have been interested, but they had trouble getting the analogy.  Some even thought we were talking about wealth inequality and redistributing to the top.  Regardless, they did all walk …

  • A Learning Moment: Deconstructing Rand’s National Debut

If you have followed me for some time then you know that what drives me is arming the freedom movement with the tools, skills, and experience necessary to drive political success.  That is one of the reasons that this is such an exciting moment.  The Rand Paul primary campaign has been an exercise in message …

  • Hope Inside

I’d like to share a short story from the YAL Spring Break in Kentucky.  While there, I met a wonderful activist whose enthusiasm for liberty is so great that she has left everything she knows to fight for it.  Personally, I do everything I can for YAL — after school, work, and family.  But this …

According to Rasmussen Reports, Rand Paul, Dr. Ron Paul’s son who is running for Senate in Kentucky, is continuing to improve his polling numbers: Ophthalmologist Rand Paul leads Democratic Lieutenant Governor Daniel Mongiardo 51% to 34%. Last month he led Mongiardo 48% to 37%. Three percent (3%) prefer some other candidate, and 12% are undecided. …

  • Got plans for spring break yet? Because you definitely should.

And those plans should entail coming to YAL’s Spring Break in Kentucky, a full week of civics education and activism for liberty for YAL members across the country!  This important event begins in just 11 days, so if you’re still unsure about whether or not you’re coming, now’s the time to decide — and to …

  • Nightly Roundup 11/11/09

Harry Reid is working hard to muscle ObamaCare through the Senate. The AP reports on Rand Paul’s early promise in the KY senate race.  However, a weakening dollar and rising oil prices point to additional current inflation-related problems. Walter Block is fighting diverso-fascism, and in style. Good for Michele Bachmann for “moving around” the spineless GOP leadership in …
