Texas Tech Free Speech Activism Challenges Free Speech Zone

Young Americans for Liberty at Texas Tech rolled around a gigantic 12 foot tall free speech ball throughout campus.

The purpose of the free speech ball was to challenge the existing “free speech zone” on campus. The Texas Tech chapter of YAL rolled the giant ball around campus allowing students and faculty to write whatever they wanted on the ball. This event was a great technique in gathering publicity for our YAL chapter.

A free speech ball is a great method to catch the attention of students, faculty, and administration. A ball is an active activism event that requires you to move around campus, which is especially useful if your campus has a “free speech zone”. This is such a great form of activism that another group on campus was rolling around a ball also.
