Thank goodness…This is not the EU

In its concerning and ridiculous quest for complete political correctness, the European Union’s parliament has banned essentially all language denoting gender for EU politicians.  Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will now no longer be able to say “Miss,” “Mrs.,” or their counterparts in other European languages.  Also off limit for politicians will be terms such as “sportsman,” “statesman,” and even “manmade.”

The ban does not yet extend to the entire population of Europe, though for EU politicians a handbook of correct language has been created to ensure that no one will ever be offended.  Some more conservative MEPs have condemned the ban, likening it to past EU laws which attempted to regulate the shape of bananas and all but outlaw bagpipes.
