It took Obama over 50 minutes to tear the eyes of libertarian kids away from their phones and to his State of the Union Address, but he managed to do it. After nearly an hour of recycled punchlines that were illogical to begin with, Obama made a truly enlightened comparison between Iran and the Soviet Union. It was in response to this that every Paulite watching looked up and thought “wait a minute…” as they (probably) got giddy in reminiscence. I did, at least.
For it was Ron Paul’s favorite argument that Obama had so eloquently adopted, and, unsurprisingly, it went without citation. Was it plagiarism? Well, he didn’t take it from Wikipedia, but if the sensational media was as libertarian as we all wished, I think the consensus would be yes. Take a look at the evidence:
