Georgetown University’s YAL chapter was pleased to host a War On Youth event which was a smashing success!
As the assorted materials for the activism project came in through the mail, our chapter’s enthusiasm slowly rose. We planned to host the War on Youth project than encourage new signups to make our last meeting of the year.
Finally, the day we would table arrived. And it proved to be a hit! Students were intrigued by the combination of politics and pong; many remarked that they hadn’t realized how anti-youth the Obama administration was, including freshman Christian Fernando (MSB ’17) who walked away with “a whole new viewpoint of the current administration.”
We managed to rack up two pages of signups, half of whom showed up for our final meeting of the year! There, we showed a film documenting Obama’s War On Youth even further.
All in all, Georgetown YAL members had a great time running this project and we look forward to running it again next year!Published in
