Troy University Free Speech Ball Event

Troy University’s YAL chapter hosted a Free Speech Ball event on campus in celebration of Constitution Day and the First Amendment. We had over a hundred students and faculty write on the ball, to the point that almost all of the 6ft ball’s surface area was covered in the free expressions of the faculty and students. We also handed out over 100 pocket constitutions. During our outing we were greeted by an advisor of the Tropolitan, our school’s newspaper, who was sympathetic to our cause and commended our work in the name of the First Amendment. We were later interviewed by Tropolitan contributors and had photos taken for the Thursday edition of the paper. Overall the event was a success and had great support by those participating. We also collected thirty signups to tell people about our future events on campus.
