At Troy University, there’s a number of pro-liberty groups, and we all got together to table against the War on Youth. Troy University Young Americans for Liberty, Troy University Students For Sensible Drug Policy, and Troy University Students for Liberty gathered together on April 22 in the “free speech zone” quad. Troy YAL set up Debt Pong and the banner showing the amount of debt each student “owes,” which was a great success as people came out to play and learned about the national debt that’s threatening to engulf us all. A number of students signed up to learn more about YAL.
After visiting the YAL area, and learning about the various kinds of programs that are causing so much debt, including the War on Drugs, students moved over to the SSDP table and picked up information. Later that night, all three groups also co-hosted a movie night for “America’s Longest War” and discussed the costs of that particular aspect of the War on Youth for hours — even past the official end time.
The War on Youth event was a part of an entire week of liberty-oriented activities that raised awareness on a number of issues, and we all consider it a success.Published in
