We celebrated Constitution week at UNC-Charlotte. We tabled every day that week, and recruited over 118 new members. We passed out all 500 pocket Constitutions and gave away 200 free books.
We had a human-size board game (see video) explaining a life in 2012 and how dangerous our government has gotten.
We bought a coffin with our Constitution Week activism grant to symbolize that the Bill of Rights is dead.
We also had a free speech wall that was fixed to the Belk Tower in the center of campus. The wall was filled with great quotes and many people participated in that. The students loved it.
We co-hosted a End the Fed rally at the Federal Reserve building in Charlotte, NC. We invited all our new recruits and we had about 100 people at the event. I feel it was a great way for the newcomers to start to get active. We had Representatives from our county and state speak. We got media attention from two news stations, a small local newspaper, and were in the biggest newspaper in Charlotte, the Charlotte Observer. This week was a big success, and I feel that there will be a lot of great things that came from these events.
On Saturday after the End the Fed rally, 15 Young Americans for Liberty finished Constitution Week out with a bang. We sharpened our shooting techniques and built camaraderie. We honored another right that is stated in the Constitution, and enjoyed every minute of it.
I want to thank all the generous donors for all the material and the funds to make this a great event. Keep scrolling for lots of photos!
