The University of Mary Washington YAL chapter has only a month cataloged in the history of our existence. In this one short month, we have conducted our first recruitment drive, forged friendships with other campus groups like the College Republicans and Young Dems, held a few meetings, and we have succeeded in getting over twenty sign-ups from clipboarding alone. Since beginning our chapter we have grown to seven members, welcomed a new chapter VP, have plans to hold a YALoween event, and are on track to receiving official recognition from the university!
Personally, I didn’t expect there to be such an immediate interest already present at UMW, but once we got out there at the club fair and started talking to fellow students, it didn’t take much for us to agree with one another that more freedom and liberty is always a great attitude to use when approaching “the issues.” Stay strong, fellow liberty leaders who might be struggling to gain traction for your chapters. Wherever there are people who are willing to talk with you, there’s your green light. That’s where it starts – who knows where it can go from there?Published in
