University of Oregon Student Organization Fair

On Friday September 22nd, our club participated in the “Flock Party,” an annual kickoff welcoming freshman students and giving student organizations a chance to present themselves to the new class. We were able to engage a number of students in discussion, and meet a few new faces friendly to liberty ideas. Our table invited students to participate in a political alignment quiz, a highly successful activity that encouraged them to think critically about issues and gain a new perspective on where they stand.

Through the combination of the political quiz and our signup sheet, our chapter gained 35 new contacts. We handed out palm cards, books, and nearly all of the Constitutions provided in our activism kit. In spite of our circumstances tabling next to the Democratic Socialists at the most left-leaning school in the state, we were able to make a formidable appearance and successfully draw attention to a broader range of issues.

Overall, we saw a strong turnout for our recruitment drive, and will be passionately pursuing the liberty cause and growing our chapter throughout the year.
