UNO YAL challenges campus ban

The YAL chapter at University of Nebraska in Omaha has stood up to the Student Government and our Administration to defend the rights of students to be able to continue to  Smoke, Vape, and Chew if they so desire.Last years student elections had a referendum on the ballot that asked if students if they wanted Smoking banned on campus. Only 670 students voted in the election and only 461 actually favored the ban. We have over 15,500 students here at UNO.

We will continue to gather petition signatures to lift the Smoking Ban and will push for a new referendum to be on next years ballot to lift this ban. We will also be our fellow students to engage in dialogue with their elected officials in Student Government to let them know they oppose the ban.
