Last week, the Utah Valley University YAL chapter hosted a Can We Take A Joke screening, and were joined by BYU. Leading up to the even there was a lot of tabling, and hype. We ran a free speech ball around campus, and really got people excited to see this movie.
The screening itself was a huge success. Everyone loved the movie, often times laughing uncontrollably, and at other points getting choked up at some of the tragic stories this narrative presented.
This movie was a roller coaster of emotions, and when it ended, everyone was silent, contemplating the dangers of what political correctness is doing on college campuses. Upon further conversation, everyone agreed, free speech must be protected at all costs, even if the opinions expressed do not align with your own.
