The University of Wisconsin Milwaukee held it’s annual student involvement fair on Tuesday the 12th of September. Our Young Americans for Liberty table was able to generate a lot of attention and this paid off, from 11-2 we were able to acquire a total of 49 signups! Our members running the table were treated fairly and respected by the event administrators, other student groups at the fair and the student body as a whole this friendly atmosphere made for an excellent day of recruitment. The table was run by myself, my Vice President Max Neuens, Aymen Issa and the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s YAL chapter VP Kristen Walker, We also received a sufficient amount of help form the LI reps on location.
On the Friday following the involvement fair Myself, Max Neuens and Aymen Issa handed out pocket constitutions on our campus plaza for national Constitution Day. Beginning the day with a total of 100 pocket Constitutions we arrived at the plaza just before noon and within 2 hours we were completely out. I have to admit I thought we would struggle to unload all the booklets, but, students on campus showed unexpected interest in the Constitutions. All and all it was a very successful day.
