Wooster Constitution Week 2014

In honor and celebration of Constitution Day, Wooster YAL acquired a table at the Student Center, where we handed out Constitutions, spoke with students, and had a large copy of the Bill of Rights for students to choose their favorite amendment!

We handed out over a hundred Constitutions over the course of a few hours, had many intriguing conversations with interested students, and had multiple others sign up to join our emailing list. Students had the opportunity to choose their favorite amendment from the Bill of Rights, with the First Amendment garnering by far the most votes. Every amendment had at least one vote, but lots of love was shown to the First, Fourth, and Tenth Amendments!

Overall, our event was very successful. We raised awareness and respect for the Constitution, provoked informed debate, and raised our own profile on campus. Let’s never lose our respect for our founding document!
