YAL at UAA Takes Part in a Local Debate

YAL’s new chapter at University of Alaska, Anchorage has made it to the airwaves!

The local media held a debate last week for two state senate candidates which aired right after the national VP debate. They welcomed students from UAA to ask the candidates questions. While most of the students there were either representing the College Republicans or College Democrats, one of our officers, Cole Heimann, made it clear to the moderator that he was there to represent Young Americans for Liberty!

At about 38:45, you’ll see our guy asking his question. YAL at UAA is committed to getting the tough answers from our candidates, whether they are running for local, state, or federal office. Cole helped make it clear what the candidates in this debate thought about government safety nets, and subsequently, civil government dependence.
