YAL Iowa State University chapter stands up against free speech zones

On Thursday April 9, Iowa State’s newly reformed YAL chapter went out with a free speech wall to protest our campus’ unconstitutional “Zone of Free Debate”. We passed out information on our school’s restrictive free speech policies and had students sign a petition to end the free speech zone.

Many students came out and enjoyed our fun and educational event. We even had the campus paper, The Iowa State Daily, come out and write about our efforts. We hope this can be the beginning of some real change on Iowa State’s campus.
