YAL is everywhere at SUNY Cortland

YAL at SUNY Cortland had another successful week of events. We hosted the campus watch parties for the Vice Presidential and Presidential debates. For the second time, we were featured in our campus newspaper.

We held our first Free Speech Ball with help from Sam Mariscal of the Leadership Institute and Dan Giles, a NY State Chair. Everyone who participated had a great time. There was little space left on the Ball after we spent four hours rolling it around our campus in Upstate New York. We had a modest amount of new club sign ups, and i’m confident our club numbers will continue to grow.

We have two more Free Speech Ball events scheduled. We are planning a YAL take over of campus, with three Free Speech Balls, on the busiest day of the year.

This week I’m proud to announce that our Chapter has secured two Congressional  Candidate Forums, and a Local District Attorney Candidate forum. Other campus organizations extended invites, but our club was the one chosen.

Other events to come this semester are: a mock election, and the Campus Election Night Party.
