YAL National is excited to share with you that Austin will be serving as the Indiana state chair. In his own words:
Published inI was completely apathetic toward politics until I stumbled upon a Ron Paul debate video on Digg. I decided to participate in Ron Paul’s Christmas Vacation, a 9-day trip where several hundred student volunteers went door to door and made phone calls for Ron. When I came back to Indiana, I started a county Meetup for the campaign. In June of 2008, I became a delegate to Indiana’s State Republican Convention at the age of 18. After volunteering for the Rally for the Republic, I started a YAL chapter at my high school. I then battled the school administration over my first amendment rights, which resulted in media attention and a change in school policy.
Currently, I am planning an effort similar to Ron Paul’s Christmas Vacation for his son’s Senatorial bid in Kentucky. You can take a look at the facebook group for more information. I look forward to working with YAL members throughout Indiana to promote the ideas of liberty and self-government. If you have any questions or need some tips on starting up a chapter, don’t hesitate to send me a message on my facebook profile or visit the Indiana forum.
