YAL to Host Ron Paul at WFU (on 4/20)!

Yes, indeed, you read the heading right; the Wake Forest chapter of Young Americans for Liberty is set to host Ron Paul to deliver a speech at the largest speaking venue on the Wake Forest campus of Wait Chapel. And yes, indeed, you read right again… YAL is hosting Dr. Paul on April 20th, 2009!

After working tirelessly on this project the entire semester, Wake Forest YAL finally confirmed with Dr. Paul and his office last week that he will address the University student body and general public. This event is very exciting for all of us YAL gals and guys; hard work does pay off.

The student paper at Wake Forest University, The Old Gold & Black, recently covered the announcement on the front page of their latest paper (as you saw as the first picture in this post).

Here is a picture of the article in full:

You can see the full OGB article online here, and you can also click the pictures if you want to see the pictures full size.

This announcement, is amazing; Wake Forest YAL put a lot of effort into the event. Their efforts included a petition that was signed by nearly 1,000 students, a formal proposal to Dr. Paul (20 pages in length!), and countless emails, phone calls and hours spent trying to secure everything for the event.

To download the press-release on the event, please see the YAL forum thread here.

You can safely bet that Wake Forest YAL will be very busy over the course of the next couple weeks. Keep tuned into the site for frequent updates on the event as I will be posting on how to advertise for such a large scale event and various other updates!

Here is a teaser of one of the many posters WFU YAL made for the event. Stay tuned in for more.

Oh, and if that’s not enough, former North Carolina congressional candidate William “BJ” Lawson (whom some of you might know, as he was endorsed by Dr. Paul during his campaign) is set to introduce Dr. Paul for the event. It’s not too good to be true; it’s true, it’s happening and it’s going to be amazing!
