UCSD Young Americans for Liberty launched into mid-quarter recruiting with YAL’s national activism project, Free Markets 101. We set up our “Jenganomics” tower on Library Walk, the main thoroughfare on campus, and before long had students learning about and discussing the destabilizing effects of economic redistribution.
People immediately caught on to the idea behind the event, and many were making observations about the destabilizing effects of redistribution before we even got a chance to explain the metaphor.
Our meeting that night had an amazingly high turnout, no doubt in part because of our recruiting efforts that day. As we move into the next quarter, we’ll keep working to become an even larger and more influential group on campus.
