Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why should I attend a YAL Spring Summit?
A: There is absolutely nothing like attending a YAL Spring Summit. This year, YAL has taken the standard convention model and flipped it on its head. Spring Summits will bring the experience of attending YAL’s National Convention, held annually in Washington, D.C. to your region.

When you attend a Summit, you will discover new ideas, connect with local leaders, and find opportunities you never knew existed. We’re also bringing keynote speakers — the top names in the liberty movement — directly to you as well as the movement’s best training opportunities to help you become a stronger communicator, persuader, and organizer for liberty. All of these events are open to the public. Bring your YAL chapter, friends, and family for this one-time opportunity.

Q: Is there a registration fee to attend a YAL Spring Summit?
A: Attending the Summit is FREE for current YAL dues-paying members. You can join YAL here for $10, claim a FREE t-shirt, and register to attend the Summit for free. For non-members registration is $25. The choice is easy: join YAL today, and register for as many Summits as you can attend.

Q: Are there travel scholarships available to help me attend a YAL Spring Summit?
A: Yes! Since we know just how valuable Spring Summits are for any activist in the network, we will help you and as many others as possible get to the event. Carpools of four or more people can have their gas reimbursed up to $100! On top of that, YAL chapters that bring ten or more people to a Summit will be awarded a $250 activism stipend!

Q: Will meals be served at the YAL Spring Summit?
A: Yes! There is such a thing as a free lunch for YAL Spring Summit attendees. In fact, a light breakfast, a full lunch and dinner and coffee throughout the day will be served. Come to a summit hungry — not just for food but for an experience like you’ve never had before!

Q: Will there be a social after the YAL Spring Summit?
A: Yes! There will be a post-event social for all attendees to relax, grab a drink, and have a good time. Depending on which summit you attend, you might even get to enjoy some live music. We will communicate to you via email the exact location and details closer to the date.

Q: Do I have to be a YAL member to attend?
A: No! Our goal is to build a stronger state network for all liberty activists. We expect many of our attendees not to be in YAL’s network, so you won’t be the only one who is attending their first YAL event. Summits are the perfect opportunity for newcomers of liberty to gain a better understanding of the ideas and opportunities in the movement, so bring your friends!

Q: Will I get more information about the event — parking, dress code, directions, etc.?
A: Yes, you will receive multiple emails from us leading up to the event. We will cover everything you need to know and make it amazingly easy to attend. You are also always welcome to ask us questions at john.goodnight@yaliberty.org.

Q: How can I help promote the YAL Spring Summits?
A: We want you to bring all your friends, family, and fellow liberty activists. Please reach out to everyone personally and invite them to join you. Please share the URL www.yaliberty.org/summits. Additionally, if you are looking to take your leadership to a new level, you should apply to be a part of our Spring Summit Leadership Team as a Recruitment Director. Apply early for the best chances of consideration at yaliberty.org/summits.
