Protect Free Speech at UNT - Young Americans for Liberty

I believe freedom of speech is crucial to an academic environment:

University of North Texas should adopt policies that disallow groups from preventing others from participating in peaceful free speech and assembly.

The University of North Texas should not disinvite speakers invited to campus by student groups based on their views.

The University of North Texas should gurantee that viewpoint expression in academic writings is protected and will not be used to affect the grades, publication, or current standing of any student or faculty author.

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) ranks UNT #221 out of the 248 schools it grades on issues regarding free speech and expression at universities. UNT has refused to take the steps necessary to provide an open envorinment for free speech.
