End the First Year Dining Scheme at Mines

Niche has rated campus food at Colorado School of Mines a C-. The student body has consistently denounced Mines Market as low quality. unappetizing, and unhealthy. In addition to the vast amount of unhealthy soybean oil used, food at Mines Market has been found to be rotten at times, and has caused food poisoning to students.

Despite all of this, first-year students at Colorado School of Mines are forced to pay liberal amounts of money to have meal plans. By ending this system, Mines Market will be forced to increase quality in competition with other food sources. Additionally, students will be able to save money by being able to spend money where they want.

We demand President Johnson and Mines administration to end forced first-year meal plans and grant the right of choice back to students.
