In 2017, Joe Shamp left YAL’s National Convention, inspired to bring reformed speech codes to his “Red Light” rated home. Joe took on a mission atypical to the Fight for Free Speech. While most of our work has been spent on overturning unconstitutional Free Speech Zones, Joe took on the task of overturning multiple “red light” rated policies, the rating FIRE reserves for the most heinous and restrictive policies.
