In the summer of 2019, Chapter President West Below researched the policies at his own school and found there were unconstitutional free speech zones and assembly permits.

During the Fall semester West took action several times, violating the schools policy in the hope of getting them changed. The school told West several times that he was in violation of the school’s policies and that he should “check in” with the student office before speaking on campus.

YAL secured a demand letter from ADF in the Spring of 2020 and West delivered it to the school. After ignoring West’s personal pleas to change the policy, SRJC saw the legal threat from ADF as too much and worked with the law group to remove the policies in question.
