Young Americans for Liberty at the University of West Georgia successfully reformed their campus speech codes – but it didn’t come without hard work. These liberty warriors hosted a string of events to put pressure on their university administrators. From hosting free speech ball events, to free speech sit-ins, flooding university administrative meetings, and even having a discussion with a university lawyer, this YAL chapter did it all.
After a semester of activism, they successfully cut their restrictive campus speech codes in half! This free speech victory is part of YAL’s national Fight for Free Speech campaign, and illustrates the success of our grassroots activism. If it weren’t for the YAL leaders at West Georgia, future generations of students would be the subject of administrative speech suppression. Thank you YAL at West Georgia for your hard work!
