The Young Americans for Liberty chapter at Wichita State University lost recognition over the course of the Winter break. In the spring, Maria Church attempted to obtain recognition of her Young Americans for Liberty chapter. The Student Government Association at Wichita State university denied recognition to the Young Americans for Liberty chapter, citing it as “dangerous.”
As a result, Young Americans for Liberty, with the assistance of partner organizations, made a massive media push to pressure the Wichita State Student Government over their unconstitutional oppression of the YAL chapter. In addition to media, the Foundation for Individual Rights in Education wrote a letter to the University outlining their transgressions. At the end of the day, the Wichita State Supreme Court overturned the decision of the Wichita State Student Government, and the Young Americans for Liberty chapter obtained official recognition.
