Target Administrator: Pamela Whitten

Story:

At the REV 22 Student Rights Summit, State Chair Jason Riley and the SRC team identified a restrictive pepper spray policy in effect at the University of Indiana Purdue. In response, they quickly launched a petition demanding the policy be changed, pushing hard to gather support. Riley and his team were relentless, mobilizing students and building momentum for the campaign.

To amplify their efforts, Riley strategically engaged campus newspapers, encouraging them to publish op-eds in support of the policy change. This media push increased public pressure on the administration and the university system. Faced with growing opposition and heightened visibility of the issue, the school and the broader university system were effectively forced to change their pepper spray policies, marking another victory for student rights and self-defense advocacy.
